With all the buzz about the upcoming PS4 and Xbox One, there are many games you shouldn’t miss before the new consoles hit.
IGN has a good write up with some notable ones in their article. For the most part I agree with that list and figured I’d add a few more.
The first one mentioned is one of my favorites, Red Dead Redemption. At first I discounted it as just another Grand Theft Auto(as I was not very impressed with GTA4), but it was much more. The story was involving and had you on the edge of your seat at times, spurring your horse to go faster and hoping you weren’t too late. Definitely don’t miss out on Red Dead!

Most of the other mentioned games are a given. Skyrim, who missed out on that gem? Fighting dragons? Yes please…
Bioshock, an all time favorite and great game. Big Daddy is coming for you!
Fallout 3, who can forget coming out of the vault for the first time and staring into the barren wasteland in awe.
The Walking Dead is a must play. If you think it’s just another zombie game you’d be wrong. See our review here for a quick run down on the game.
For the shooter fans, Call of Duty of course. Black Ops 2 had some great modes, and of course zombies. Battlefield 3 is still one of my favorites.
For the indie gamers out there, pick up Don’t Starve. A great survival game with some unique artwork and it is still being updated constantly.
Terraria is also back to being developed and worked on and Minecraft is still a solid game with a very dedicated player base. Limbo is a good one but it is rather quick so pick it up on sale.
If you’re looking for a challenge grab FTL: Faster Than Light.
