The video game was a hit in Germany and was later translated to English and released by Sir-Tech in 1993. The game was very popular in the 1990s featuring unique role-playing aspects, turn-based tactical fights, and a fantasy based world. Realms of Arkania: Blade of Destiny is one out of a trilogy of the Realms of Arkania series. Crafty Studios, an Austrian developer, has decided to fully reboot the game in 2013 to include modern day RPG fanatics in the Realms of Arkania universe.
Players will journey to Thorwal, one of the oldest cities in Aventuria. Gather your party of six and prepare to venture through the alleys of this mysterious city and adventure throughout the world of Aventuria. Prepare yourself and your party members statistics and skills in the beginning of the game and also sharpen your wits because a dangerous orc chief has threatened the entire human race. Old school RPG fans will recognize reminiscent features of RPG games from the 90s and players of Dungeons and Dragons will feel at home with the character creation that require dice rolls to place skill points. Realms of Arkania: Blade of Destiny features 3D turn-based tactical fights, world exploration in real-time 3D, and over 80 hours of gameplay.
