attack-on-titan-banner-1It’s been a really long time since I have gotten emotionally invested in an anime. I think the last one that I got really worked up about was Clannad After Story and I don’t know many people that didn’t get worked up over that show. It’s hard for me to connect to most characters in anime especially in a post apocalyptic setting, however, Shingeki no Kyojin has done an amazing job at pulling on my heartstrings all while making me feel pure terror.

Shingeki no Kyojin is set in a very grim world where humanity has been almost extinct by giants. These giants appear to posses no intelligence or remorse and are very hard to kill. The small amount of humanity that still exist have walled themselves in a city surrounded by walls that are taller than the giants. The story focuses on a boy named Eren and his adopted sister named Mikasa who live amongst the small number of mankind that are surviving behind the walls. Something tragic happens in their life and to their dilapidated city where Eren swears revenge and that he will destroy every single titan.

If you enjoy post apocalyptic shows like The Walking Dead then you have to check out Shingeki no Kyojin this season. The anime is still currently airing in Japan but a new episode airs every Sunday in the U.S. on Crunchyroll.com.
