Warner Brothers has announced that Ben Affleck will play Batman in the upcoming sequel to the “Man of Steel” Superman movie. Ben Affleck has starred in numerous films in the past including “Pearl Harbor”, “Gigli”, “Daredevil”, and “Good Will Hunting”. Affleck will star alongside Henry Cavill who will be reprising his role as Clark Kent. Amy Adams, Lawrence Fishburne, and Diane Lane will also be reprising their roles as supporting characters in the new film.
For the first time on-screen, the Caped Crusader will join forces with Superman. The film will begin production next year and will be released sometime in 2015.
With the announcement of Ben Affleck’s new role, the internet is in cahoots. Zack Snyder dropped hints at Comic Con about the pair joining forces but did not reveal the actor. Fans speculated who would be the next Batman but Ben Affleck was not on the list of candidates for the new dark knight. Many fans were hoping for Christian Bale’s return as Batman but it was reported that he turned down $50 million to reprise his role.
