Nintendo announced that a new Nintendo Direct would be airing this morning and while Sony and Microsoft are gaining momentum from their new console releases coming in the next few weeks; Nintendo made sure that we Nintendo fans have some awesome stuff to be excited about as well.
The Regginator started the show off with discussing the new Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and a brand new trailer showcasing some awesome gameplay. The trailer also showed a feature involving StreetPass which will allow players the ability to battle Shadow Link. After the trailer, Reggie pulls out a shiny, gold and black 3DS XL. This 3DS XL will be a limited edition item that is Legend of Zelda themed and will be bundled with a digital copy of A Link Between Worlds. The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and the 3DS XL bundle will be available for purchase on November 22nd.
Reggie turns the show over to Bill Trinen who tells fans to follow Nintendo on Instagram as there will be new mini-trailers for The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. Bill continues discussing new characters in ALBW including Irene, Seras, and Gramps. Bill explains ALBW’s unique StreetPass feature which will allow players to design their own Shadow Link. When another player passes you via StreetPass, your Shadow Link will be sent to their 3DS to battle and the bounty on the Shadow Link’s head will increase depending on the type of equipment it has.
Alongside A Link Between Worlds and the Link Between Worlds bundle pack; two new Mario games will also be released on November 22nd. Mario Party Island Tour resembles a classic Mario Party game but on the 3DS. The wonderful thing about this game is that your friends will not need to purchase additional copies to play with you, all they need is another 3DS as Mario Party Island Tour will feature download play for up to three other players. Super Mario 3D World will also be available on November 22nd for the Wii U.
Bravely Default is also briefly discussed as Bill shows the audience some key features involved in this unique RPG. Battling in Bravely Default differs from other RPGs as players will be able to control the flow of combat with the “brave” and “default” options. Players will also be able to freeze time so that players can customize their strategy within battle. The game will be available February 7th along with a collector’s edition that will pack a soundtrack, three to four AR cards, and an artbook.
