Make bells fast in Animal Crossing New Leaf – Part 2

Make Bells fast!

Since making bells in Animal Crossing seemed to be such a popular topic, we decided to revisit it with some more tips and tricks. Here’s our part 2 guide on how to make bells fast in Animal Crossing New Leaf!

1. The Money Rock
Remember the money rock that loves to spit out free cash? Well if you can manage to get every single hit out of it the final bag is 16,000 bells!
So here are some tips to get all the bells. If you’re lucky the rock will already be next to a wall, river, tree or another object that can not be moved. If this is the case simple put your back towards that object and hit it with your shovel as quickly as you can.

If you don’t have that luxury then you can make your own barrier with the shovel. Or you can plant hibiscus in these spaces for a more “permanent” barrier. This is much easier to explain with images so here’s a clip from the wiki:

2. Island Beetles
How about the island beetles that are worth so much? Well, if you are having a hard time with beetle spawn there is a little trick of sorts that you can do.

Grab the loaner axe and cut down the middle trees, the ones that grow on the grass. (Be sure to keep a piece of the fruit or at least have transplanted some to the mainland first!) Also pull up the flowers on the island as these will spawn butterflies. You need not worry much about the bushes but you can destroy those as well.
Now all you should have left are the palm style trees on the beach. Run around the island collecting those beetles and make sure you scare away any hermit crabs, roaches or other non valuable creatures as you go.
Fill your box up with beetles and book it back to the mainland for loads of bells!

3. Mushroom Farming
Every so often when you chop down a tree you’ll see a different design on the stump. If you find a pattern that is not the typical circles leave that stump and check it daily. Mushrooms may grow around it and a couple of them sell at re-tail for 16,000 bells a piece!

Here’s a quick list of the mushrooms and their value:

Flat Mushroom – 200 Bells
Round Mushroom – 200 Bells
Skinny Mushroom – 300 Bells
Elegant Mushroom – 10,000 Bells
Famous Mushroom – 16,000 Bells
Rare Mushroom – 16,000 Bells

4. Turnip Market
This one can be extremely valuable if you have a good network of players. The biggest trick to this is having all your friends check the turnip prices prior to noon and after noon every day when the price has changed. When one of you hits a very high number 200, 300 or 400+ then everyone sells their turnips in that players town.
If you get lucky enough you can make out like a bandit.
The same tactic applies to buying the turnips, figure out which of your friends has the lowest price that day and head to their town!

Now get out there and start making those bells, Nook needs his money!!
